Trail Walk

Winter window trail, opening walk

High Street, Rangiora

All festival windows lit and dressed. Warm white lights, snow-spray scenes, and winter baskets hang across the main street. Grab a coffee and take it all in.

Winter Plate Trail opens, opening night dinner

The Winter Plate Trail officially begins. Head to any participating restaurant for their exclusive festival plate with braised Canterbury lamb, venison, massaman curry and more. Tables recommended.

5:30pm onwards

Opening night live music

La Luna Eatery & Bar

Local acoustic duo play a warm set of folk and Kiwi classics to kick off the festival. Walk-ins welcome. Mulled wine on the menu all evening.

Token shopping trail & Winter Plate Trail

All participating venues

Full token deals active across all retailers and hospitality venues. Best day to bring the family and explore the whole street.

Kids maker morning — snowflake cookie painting

Artisan by Rangiora Bakery · 18 High Street

Little ones decorate freshly baked snowflake shortbread cookies with royal icing and edible glitter. Includes a hot chocolate for the kids and a coffee for the grown-ups. Ages 4–12.

WORKSHOPS & CLASSES

Winter wreath making — foraged ivy & dried botanicals

forage & clay · High Street

Create a stunning winter door wreath using foraged ivy, dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, cotton stems, and eucalyptus. All materials provided. Take your wreath home on the day. 10 spaces only.

Macramé winter wall hanging

Handzon · 1 Alfred Street

Learn the basics of macramé knotting and create a beautiful winter-themed wall hanging using natural cotton rope, wooden dowels, and seasonal dried grasses. All levels welcome.

Mulled wine & cheese afternoon

Ivory Bar

Settle in with a flight of warm mulled North Canterbury reds and a carefully selected cheese board for two. Live fire, cosy booths, no booking required.

2pm–4pm

LIVE MUSIC

Saturday sessions — live jazz & winter plates

Monteith's Rangiora

A local jazz trio plays while you dine. The winter short rib and craft pints are on the menu all evening. Walk-ins welcome, reservations recommended for groups.
